Is 5.08 mm the same as 5.0 mm terminal block pitch?

No. They are two different nominal centerline spacings. The difference is 0.08 mm per interval and accumulates across a multi-position connector.

How should terminal block pitch be measured?

Measure from the center of the first contact to the center of the last contact, then divide by the number of intervals, which is positions minus one. Do not use the outside housing length as pitch.

Can a 5.0 mm plug mate with a 5.08 mm header?

Do not assume it can. Pitch, total span, contact geometry, housing, orientation, keying and latch details must all match. Confirm the exact drawing and sample as a pair.

Why do some product families list 5.0/5.08 mm?

A manufacturer may offer separate variants or a family covering both nominal pitches. That does not mean every SKU or PCB footprint accepts both. Verify the exact part number and drawing.
